yesteryear chocolates

Illustrated and branded chocolate company concept. Includes modern illustrations from the fifties, sixties, and seventies.

This project started as a chocolate bar series. I chose to do fifty, sixty, and seventy percent chocolates, with illustrations inspired by the fifties, sixties, and seventies. The packaging was expanded to include chocolate liqueur bottles and hot chocolate mix tins. Each of the products feature characters on a date which I felt was emblematic of the time period- a drive in movie and diner for the fifties, a cafe and vespa drive around town for the sixties, and an arcade and music jam for the seventies. Each product’s label was inspired by a bygone decade. Everything from color choice to typography to character design is a modern callback to the good old days.
